The Lizard King, Hyssa, launches a brutal raid on a Mediterranean village, leaving destruction in his wake. Dozens are killed or enslaved, and among the survivors is a young man named Atlas, who loses his family in the attack. He is taken in by Chagra, a wise figure who recognizes Atlas’s connection to the legendary Crystal Mountain. Chagra shields him from Hyssa’s marauding war party, but when the threat passes, Atlas returns to his village only to find it reduced to ashes. With nothing left, he takes a shard from the Crystal Mountain and vows vengeance against King Hyssa.

Years later, Atlas has transformed into a man of immense strength, his body capable of feats beyond human limits. Chagra, ever by his side, promises to help Atlas find the beast responsible for the destruction of his people, but only if Atlas will lead him to the Crystal Mountain in return.

Together, they journey to the Lizard Kingdom, where Atlas’s strength earns him both fame and enemies. After triumphing in a contest with a powerful warrior named Kargin, Atlas draws the ire of one of the King’s nobles. The noble, seeking to crush him, sends slaves and archers after Atlas, but the young warrior proves his mettle and presses on in his quest for revenge.
